August is here, meaning September is on its way and therefore so is the start of the fall allergy season. On the brighter side however, did you know that your seasonal allergies can actually be prevented? Ragweed is set to pop up soon all across our city, so now is the time to take control of your allergies and stop them before they start. Naturopathic medicine’s approach to seasonal allergies is different from conventional medicine. We use a combination of nutrients and botanicals to essentially stabilize the histamine containing cells, called mast cells, and stop them from releasing these sniffly-sneezy havoc-makers (aka: histamine) into your bloodstream. Furthermore, we introduce you to the anti-allergy powerhouse foods, such as apples, lemons, onions, garlic, berries and red grapes which you can incorporate into your diet to work in synergy with other therapies prescribed in your unique treatment plan. This in turn stops your symptoms from even occurring as the mast cells have been reinforced and strengthened thereby keeping the histamine contained at the source and decreasing the use of anti-histamine medication.
Feel free to contact the clinic for more information or to make an appointment with our Naturopathic Doctors and get a head start to allergy season, today.
